A man died early Saturday morning from a gunshot wound he suffered Friday during an argument with two men outside an apartment complex, Metro Police said.

Police responded at about 6:33 p.m. Friday to a call of shots fired at 124 E. Washington Ave., Sgt. Rocky Alby said.

They found the victim, whose name had not been released this morning, outside his apartment. Paramedics transported him to University Medical Center, where he died at 1:30 a.m., Alby said.

Witnesses told police that two Hispanic men in their 20s came to the apartment complex near Lions Memorial Park and became involved in an argument with the victim.

One of the two men pulled a gun and shot the victim one time, Alby said. They fled the scene on foot.
