Lorine Buckhaulter

Lorine Buckhaulter, 69, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. She was born Nov. 8, 1932, in Saline, La. A resident for 14 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Geraldine Turner of Las Vegas and Irene Edwards of Madera, Calif.; two sisters, Pauline Jackson of Shadow Grove, La., and Ilena Howard of Las Vegas.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Flagstaff, Ariz. American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.

John Cionowicz

John Cionowicz, 85, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born April 26, 1916, in Bridgewater, Mass. A resident for 41 years, he was a retired postal worker, World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War Army veteran, and a Pearl Harbor survivor.

He is survived by one brother, Rodger Zenawich of West Bridgewater, Mass.

Graveside services will be 10:40 a.m. Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., handled arrangements.

Ronald H. Cleveland

Ronald H. Cleveland, 47, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday. He was born Nov. 11, 1954, in Shelbyville, Tenn. A resident for 46 years, he was a security officer.

He is survived by his parents, George and Hilda Cleveland of North Las Vegas; and two sisters, Becky Sims and Carol Smith, both of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Main.

Blanche L. Cole

Blanche L. Cole, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born July 18, 1924, in Chicago. A resident for 30 years, she was a retired hotel housekeeper and World War II Navy veteran.

She is survived by three sons, John Kapfenberg and Patrick Compton and Michael Compton, both of Las Vegas; four daughters, Arlene Gundy, Darla Kazanowsky of Auroro, Colo., Debby Turmelle of Henderson and Loretta Cole of Las Vegas; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-4 p.m. Sunday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd. Graveside services will be 2 p.m Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Mary Ann Cooley

Mary Ann Cooley, 61, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born June 4, 1940, in Omaha, Neb. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Cooley and Dawna Cooley, and two sons, James Cooley and Richard Cooley, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Elaine Lupton of Bruch Praire, Wash.; three brothers, LeRoy Witthauer, Raymond Witthauer and Harry Witthauer, all of Los Angeles; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. graveside services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Thomas W. Cooper

Thomas W. Cooper, 71, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born April 24, 1930, in California. A resident for seven years, he was an Army and Air Force veteran and a member of the Garden Club, Zelzah Shrine, Daylite Lodge, No. 144 and the Masons.

He is survived by his wife, Diane; two sons, Chris Cooper of Illinois and Gary Cooper of California; one brother, John Cooper of Arizona; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Audrey Diggs

Audrey Diggs, 71, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 26, 1930, in Estill, Miss. A resident for 50 years, she was a retired school food handler, a Sunday school teacher and worked with the Senior Mission.

She is survived by one son, Thomas Myles of Las Vegas; one sister, Shirley A. Kobbe, and one brother, George M. Vaughn, both of Minneapolis.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Bethel Baptist Church, 400 W. Adams St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Walter Benjamin Goslee

Walter Benjamin Goslee, 82, of Las Vegas died Dec. 22 in a local care center. He was born Feb. 18, 1919, in Hebron, Md. A resident for 20 years, he was an auto mechanic and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by one niece, Carolyn Adkins of Mardela Springs, Md.

A private memorial service is scheduled. Graveside services will be 12:40 p.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Nevada Funeral Service, 2983 Fremont St., handled arrangements.

Patricia Mitzel Henderson Graham

Patricia Mitzel Henderson Graham, 81, of Charlotte, N.C., died Tuesday in Charlotte. She was born June 16, 1920, in Harriman, Pa. A former resident of Las Vegas, she was a businesswoman and was active with the symphony and the arts.

She is survived by two sons, Chris Henderson of San Francisco and David Henderson of Alexandria, Va.; one daughter, Lisa Piazz of Charlotte; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at McEwen Funeral Home, 10500 Park Road, in Charlotte.

Kenneth Leroy Gregory

Kenneth Leroy Gregory, 74, of Pahrump died Monday in Pahrump. A resident for three years, he was an Army and Air Force veteran and a member of Experimental Aircraft Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars and NRA.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; one son, Jeff Gregory of Henderson; two brothers, Laverne Gregory of San Angelo, Texas, and Dale Gregory of Kirksville, Mo.; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be Friday at Pahrump Family Mortuary, 5441 S. Vicki Ann Road, Pahrump.

Dominick Grossi

Dominick Grossi, 91, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 5, 1910, in Chicago Heights, Ill. A resident for seven years, he was an assembly line worker for a screw manufacturing company.

He is survived by his wife, Anna; one son, Peter Grossi of California; one daughter, Marie Mastro of Las Vegas; one brother, Adam Grossi of Chicago; two sisters, Nettie Soffel and Rose Visone, both of California; and four grandchildren.

Alice E. Gundling

Alice E. Gundling, 78, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 16, 1923, in North Judson, Ind. A resident for 40 years, she was a hotel reservations clerk.

She is survived by one son, Lanoe Gundling of Las Vegas; one sister, Elizabeth Gerstner of Villa Park, Ill.; and two bothers, Leonard Cromey of Lake Villa, Ill., and Edward Cromery of Villa Park, Ill.

Ruby Jackson

Ruby Jackson, 65, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born June 3, 1936, in Phoenix. A resident for 14 years, she was a retired registered nurse.

She is survived by her husband, Norris; and one son, Berdall Jackson of Los Angeles.

Visitation is scheduled noon-5 p.m. Friday. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday.

Christine Clark Justice

Christine Clark Justice, 63, of Las Vegas died Dec. 19 in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 19, 1938, in Texas. A resident for three years, she was a nurse's aid.

She is survived by two sons, James Justice and Jason Justice, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, L.D. Clark of Torrance, Calif., and Irwin D. Clark of New Castle, Calif.; two sisters, Maxine Vick of Victorville, Calif., and Shirley Baker of Grand Terrace, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 6 p.m. today in the LDS Mountain Shadows Ward at Walnut and Carey.

Meyer Kagan

Meyer Kagan, 78, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 6, 1923, in Lithuania. A resident for seven months, he was a postal worker for 18 years and World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian; three sons, Leonard Kagan of San Diego, Howard Kagan of Missouri and Scott Kagan of Las Vegas; three daughters, Pauline Amsellam, Judith Bushman and Sondra Kagan, one brother, Ralph Kagan, and one sister, Rose Passo, all of New York City; and nine grandchildren.

Burial will be noon Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Nevada Funeral Service, 2983 Fremont St., handled arrangements.

C. Jack Laino

C. Jack Laino, 85, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born May 12, 1916, in Springfield, Mass. A resident for 46 years, he was a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel and World War II and Korean War veteran and a member of the Oasis Masonic Lodge 41, Scottish Rite and York Rite Bodies, Zelzah Shrine, Southgate Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, White Shrine of Jerusalem, Red Cross of Constantine, and Quiet Birdmen's Association.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; two sons, David C. Laino and Bruce J. Laino, both of Las Vegas; three sisters, Pauline Artioli of Long Meadow, Mass., and Ralphina LeDoux and Millie Avery, both of Springfield; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Gerald Adolph Laitinen, 63, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born June 24, 1938, in Detroit, Mich. He was a chemical engineer.

He is survived by one son, Todd Laitinen of Illinois; one daughter, Linda Acly of Texas; one brother, David Laitinen, and one sister, Susan Streling, both of Michigan; and three grandchildren.

Gloria J. Llanes Leal

Gloria J. Llanes Leal, 75, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born April 9, 1926, in Juarez, N.M. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Elaine Gomez of Henderson, Joanne Powell of Los Angeles and Dianna Woolsey of Elmonte, Calif.; two sons, Bernie Leal of Chino Hills, Calif., and Rito Leal Jr., of Moreno Valley, Calif.; one sister, Alma Torrez of San Bernardino, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Ray Henry Lewis, 71, of North Las Vegas died Dec. 27 in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 6, 1930, in Sunflower, Miss. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired steel worker.

He is survived by three daughters, Mellida Lewis, Truncy Lewis and Floric Travis, all of Holden, La.; two sons, Ivory Donald of New Orleans and Ronnie Donald of Mobile, Ala.; one sister, Suddie Richard of North Las Vegas; one brother, Eddie Baymon of Carson City; 13 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.

Michael A. Lombardo, 50, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born April 24, 1951, in Chicago. A resident for 29 years, he was a casino supervisor.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; one daughter, Lisa Marie Lombardo, and his mother, Minnie Lombardo, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Christine Asher of Berrington, Ill.

Veola McCoy

Veola McCoy, 67, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 18, 1934, in Darnell, La. A longtime resident, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Eddie McCoy Jr., and Dan D. McCoy, three daughters, Jennifer Ann Scott, Brenda Faye McCoy and Janice McCoy, four sisters, Gladys Mae Reed, Dorothy M. Green, Barbara Sledge and Rosie Gaines, and one brother, William Sledge, all of LasVegas; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Robert J. McCraw

Robert J. McCraw, 73, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 2, 1928, in North Platte, Neb. A resident for five years, he was a retired accountant for a property management company.

He is survived by one sister, Joan McCraw of Las Vegas; and one brother, Dean F. McCraw of Apache Junction, Ariz.

Carroll Edward Moody

Carroll Edward Moody, 67, of Pahrump died Monday in Pahrump. He was born Oct. 14, 1934, in North Carolina. A resident for five years, he was a Navy veteran and a member of the Lions.

He is survived by three daughters, Caraine Wood, Kayla Muller and Tina Oler, all of California; and six grandchildren.

Brian A. Pappa

Brian A. Pappa, 34, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 1, 1967, in Arcadia, Calif. A resident for 27 years, he was a property management salesman, collected books and was a history and airplane enthusiast.

He is survived by his mother, Henny Pappa, one brother, Erik R. Pappa, and one sister, Michelle Pappa, all of Las Vegas.

Bill G. Pinkerton, 81, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Dec. 18, 1920, in Texas. A resident for 45 years, he was a casino manager.

He is survived by one daughter, Caroyl Pinkerton; two sons, Glenn Pinkerton and Kriss Pinkerton, both Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Private services were held Wednesday at Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive. Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Marjorie V. Pinske

Marjorie V. Pinske, 81, of Boulder City died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born Jan. 30, 1920, in Minneapolis. A resident for nine years, she was a retired researcher in the aerospace industry.

She is survived by her husband, Richard E.; three daughters, Rochelle Henderson of Newport, Wash., Dora Smith of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Lisa Krueger-Eobstel of Boulder City; one son, Marty Kruegar of Reno; one sister, Helen Anderson of North Branch, Minn.; one brother, Norman Collins of Ocala, Fla.; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

William Rodick, 79, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. He was born Aug. 13, 1922, in Chicago. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired letter carrier, World War II Army veteran and a member of the Jewish Veteran Organization and Orange County Stamp Club.

He is survived by one daughter, Carol Sue Herndon, and two sons, Steven Alan Rodick and Martin Alvin Rodick, all of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Lovey A. Sayles-House, 83, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 22, 1918, in Conway, Ark. A resident for 55 years, she was a retired hotel powder room attendant, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Martin Luther King Senior Citizens, Economic Opportunity Board, and a church mother at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church and a recipient of the 2001 Rose Award from the Professional Black Women's Alliance.

She is survived by four daughters, Barbara Jean Morris of Tulsa, Okla., and Mary-Etta Sayles-Clitnon, Heloise Pressley and Vivian Pressman, all of Las Vegas; two stepdaughters, Lula Boston and Shirley Hardy of Las Vegas; three sons, Melton Sayles Jr., Mitchell Sayles and Edgar Rollins Sayles, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Ruby Taylor of Los Angeles and Reola Winrow of Richmond, Calif.; 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Rita Hazel Scarbrough, 85, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 27, 1916, in Groveton, Texas. A resident for 11 years, she worked for Livingston department store in San Francisco for 20 years, she was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Elks, St. Jude's Women's Auxillary and the Women's Democratic Club.

She is survived by her husband, John; and three sisters, Edie Tyner and Merelene McGutrick, both of Oklahoma, and Norma McIntosh of Derby, Kan.

Dorothy Marie Searcy, 82, of Las Vegas died Dec. 27 in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 14, 1919, in Snowshoe, Pa. A resident for 43 years, she was a retired waitress.

She is survived by her husband, Mark; two sons, Kevin Sieracke and John Sieracke, and one daughter, Rachel Sieracke, all of Henderson; her parents, Bill and Betty Harrigan of Hammond; and one sister, Marie Harrigan, of Highland, Ind.

Betty Trader, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 11, 1929, in Boyceeville, Wis. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired civil service worker and a Korean War Air Force veteran.

She is survived by her husband, Dodge; one daughter, Jan Tabor of Seattle; her mother, Dorothy Fromm, and two sisters, Ruth Zacharias and Esther Fromm, all of New Richmond, Wis.; one brother, Charles Fromm of St. Paul, Minn.; and three grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 10 a.m. today in Christ Lutheran Church, 111 N. Torrey Pines Drive, followed by burial in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., handled arrangements.

Donald L. Tuthill

Donald L. Tuthill, 83, of Las Vegas died Dec. 13 in a local care center. He was born Feb. 17, 1918, in Cincinnati. A resident for 36 years, he was a retired railroad locomotive engineer and a member of the Cynthia Masonic Lodge 155 in Cincinnati.

He is survived by one daughter, Donna Ramos of Las Vegas; one grandson and three great-grandchildren.
