Lake Mead boaters who have been fishing recently in the Overton Arm have reported to the Nevada Division of Wildlife that good success for largemouth bass is being found around Fish Island and the Virgin River narrows.

Crappie continue to be caught in the Virgin narrows and in the Muddy River with most of the success coming at night. The fish are being caught with crappie jigs and minnows.

Striped bass fishing continues to be slow throughout the lake. However, several shore anglers have reported catching stripers at night at B-5 (Pumphouse) Cove by casting Stocker Trout lures with surf casting rods.

The action for rainbow trout has been good following the weekly plants. The next plants are scheduled to take place Friday at Horsepower Cove, Hemenway Harbor, South Saddle Cove and B-5 Cove.

NDOW stocked rainbow trout this week at Cottonwood Cove, Aztec Wash and Placer Cove.
