Incumbent Wendell Williams, the speaker pro tempore, is seeking his ninth term. He faces Republican Devon Mennenoh in the race for the seat representing many North Las Vegas residents.
Williams, 52, is a management analyst for Las Vegas.
Mennenoh did not respond to the Sun's requests for information.
There are more than 13,300 registered voters in the district. Among them are more than 8,400 Democrats and nearly 3,000 Republicans.
