Financial talk for Down group

The Down Syndrome Organization of Southern Nevada will present Wayne Edington, financial advisor with Paine Webber, to its membership at 7 p.m. Wednesday at 5300 Vegas Drive.

Different financial alternatives will be discussed along with special needs trusts, and why planning for your child's future is important. Call 648-1990.

Restaurant to hold kids' fund-raiser

Food will be served by local firefighters today and Friday at Buca di Beppo, 412 E. Flamingo Road, to raise money for The Foundation for Positively Kids.

The fund-raiser, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. each day, will feature guest servers, Italian singers and other live entertainment, and raffle prizes. The event will also feature performances by singer-impressionist Bill Acosta.

All tips earned from the three-day event, money from corporate sponsorships and 10 percent of total sales at the event will benefit the foundation. Call 262-0037.

Golf tickets will benefit schools

The Las Vegas Founders and the Save Our Sports program have teamed for a fund-raiser for local schools.

Middle schools will keep 100 percent of the proceeds from each $10 ticket sold for the Oct. 12 round of the Invensys Classic PGA tournament. The tickets are available for purchase now through Oct. 5 at select Raley's Supermarkets. Call 242-3000.
