25 cent lottery tickets offered

DETROIT -- The Michigan Lottery will take bets as small as a quarter in a new game starting Oct. 13.

Change Play, with bets from 25 to 99 cents, will pay winners according to how much they bet and the size of that day's pool, The Detroit News reported Thursday.

Payoffs could reach roughly $3,000, Acting Lottery Commissioner Jim Kipp said. He said he expects Change Play to bring in $50 million a year, and the state could get about $18 million.

Each ticket will have two letters and four numbers -- all randomly picked by computer. Six winning combinations will be drawn daily at 9 p.m.
