Fishing has improved for striped bass in the Boulder Basin at Lake Mead.

Stripers are being found from Pyramid Island to the Hemenway Wall, with concentrations of the fish off Boulder Beach in 50 feet of water. Stripers have been seen slurping for larval shad on the surface in the area.

Striper and catfish are being caught at 33 Hole and Boxcar Cove.

A local participant in a largemouth bass tournament over the weekend reported that few fish were caught and they were in generally poor condition.

Anglers in the Overton Beach area have been catching striped bass that range from 18 to 20 inches. The fish coming in continue to be thin.

Nice largemouth bass continue to be taken with nightcrawlers and plastic worms around St. Thomas and Fish Island.

Fishing around the Meat Hole area near Echo Bay is starting to pick up with some decent size striper being caught.

Striped bass and catfish averaging 3 pounds are being caught around Cottonwood Cove. Successful anglers are using anchovies and squid to catch the stripers.
