Painters recently applied a darker paint to the property formerly known as Treasure Island, now called TI.
This spring, the company announced plans to remake itself, shedding its swashbuckling pirate-fight show in front of the hotel-casino in favor of a "Sirens of TI" show, a sexed-up "battle" featuring scantily clad women. The redesign covers every aspect of the hotel, from the signs to the rooms and gift shops, which are now pirate-free.
At the end of last month, the property held a public auction, selling off its pirate decor -- everything from hats and swords to massive figureheads.
