Rodman cited on suspicion of drunken driving

Former NBA star Dennis Rodman was cited Sunday morning on suspicion of drunken driving after Metro Police say he crashed a borrowed motorcycle outside a strip club.

Rodman, 42, had been at the newly opened Treasures at 2801 Westwood Drive, near Rancho Drive and Sahara Avenue, for a couple of hours when he asked an employee if he could take a ride on his motorcycle shortly before 9 a.m., police said.

"He was popping wheelies, or attempting to pop wheelies," Officer Jose Montoya, spokesman for Metro Police, said. "He wasn't wearing a helmet."

Rodman crashed into a pole and was thrown off the motorcycle, suffering cuts to both legs. Authorities said he was treated at University Medical Center and released.

Montoya said he was issued a citation at UMC and will have to appear in court or enter a plea within four to six weeks.

Rodman, a regular visitor to Las Vegas, was charged last month with public drunkenness in Newport Beach, Calif., where police say they've answered numerous complaints about noise at his home.

In August a civil jury rejected a 39-year-old woman's claim that Rodman sexually assaulted her in his home.
