Gourmet Grazer planned Sunday
The Alliance of Black Culinarians will be hosting the 13th annual Gourmet Grazer from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Stardust Pavilion.
The Alliance of Black Culinarians is a nonprofit charitable organization to promote education, training, recognition and the advancement of black chefs.
Its charitable focus is youth from challenged communities. Proceeds from previous Gourmet Grazer events have awarded scholarships to underprivileged graduating seniors, provided financial support to Kermit R. Booker Elementary School and school supplies and backpacks to Greater New Jerusalem Baptist Church student members.
A donation for the event is only $25.
Krispy Kreme will host blood drive
Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and United Blood Services is hosting a community blood drive at two of their locations from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. A mobile unit will be stationed outside each of the Krispy Kreme bakeries at Silverado Ranch Boulevard at Eastern Avenue and Rainbow Boulevard and Spring Mountain Road.

Kids to receive vision screening
The Lions Clubs of Nevada are launching a statewide effort to screen all Nevada children for vision problems by providing testing for more than 100 local children from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Saturday in the Lions Eye Mobile in the parking lot of Primm Valley Resort.
The effort aims to reach more than 30,00 preschool-aged children each year, detecting vision problems and eye disease while in the early and treatable stages.

Women's Fair set for Saturday
KMZQ 100.5-FM and KMXB 94.1-FM's third annual Las Vegas Women's Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Suncoast hotel.
All-day entertainment will include fashion shows with clothing provided by Camile La Vie, "The Thunder From Down Under" male review, and a demonstration room where attendees can learn about the newest techniques for beauty, fashion and health.

The Donald W. Reynolds Foundation
announced it will resume the foundation's competitive Capital Grants Program and associated Planning and Technical Assistance Grants Program. Both programs were temporarily suspended last year as the foundation's board investigated the impact such grants were having on various agencies, communities and clients where the grants have previously been awarded.
