My congratulations to Aladdin President Bill Timmins for giving Linda Ronstadt the heave-ho after she made a political statement to the paying customers who were there to be entertained, not given a political lecture.
Of course we have freedom of speech, but this is about high-priced entertainers putting on a high-cost show. If they want to advertise it as a political seminar, fine -- we'll pay and listen. But if it's billed as entertainment, then it would border on the fraudulent to entice paying customers into the arena and then hold them captive while political statements are made.
Agree or disagree with Michael Moore, everyone who charges admission prices to captive audiences for entertainment has no business making soap-box political statements at that venue.
