Music

'Concert in the Park'

The Community College of Southern Nevada will hold "A Concert in the Park" at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at CCSN's Nicholas Horn Theatre, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave. Admission is $5. 651-5483.

Pat Martino

The Pat Martino Quintet will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Clark County Government Center Ampitheater, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway. Admission is free. 455-8200.

Concerts

The following Community College of Southern Nevada musical groups will perform this week. All shows are at 7:30 p.m. at CCSN's Nicholas J. Horn Theater, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave., and all are $5 for admission. For information, call 651-5483:

Today -- The 17-piece jazz band will perform in a salute to the best of big band jazz.

Monday -- The orchestra will perform highlights from the baroque and classical periods.

Tuesday -- The 50-piece concert band will recreate the sounds of a concert in the park.

Wednesday -- The percussion ensemble will present a program of percussion music of all types.

Thursday -- The choral ensemble will perform classical and contemporary selections.

Choral favorites

The Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society will present the 22-voice Musical Arts Singers in "An Evening of Choral Favorites" at 8 p.m. Thursday at UNLV's Doc Rando Recital Hall. Admission is free. 451-6672.

Mother's Day concert

The Cultural Affairs Division of the city of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services presents its annual Mayor's Mother's Day Concert at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Reed Whipple Cultural Center, 821 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Admission is free, but tickets are required. 229-6211.

Benefit concert

The CCSN performing artists will hold a fund-raising concert for Jeremiah Johnson, who recently had a brain tumor removed, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at CCSN's Nicholas J. Horn Theatre, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave. Tickets are $10. 651-5483.

'Rain'

The production "Counting the Rain" will be performed at 7:30 p.m. today and 2 p.m. Saturday at Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive. Tickets are $7 general, $5 seniors/students. 455-7340.

'Philadelphia'

"The Philadelphia Story" will be staged at 8 p.m. today, Saturday and Thursday, and at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Las Vegas Little Theatre, 3844 Schiff Drive. Tickets are $15 adults, $13 seniors/ students. 362-7996.

'View From the Bridge'

The Nevada Conservatory Theatre presents "A View From the Bridge" at 8 p.m. today, Saturday, and at 2 p.m. Sunday at UNLV's Judy Bayley Theatre. Ticket prices to be announced. 895-2787 or 739-3267.

'Translation'
