Heroes With Heart celebration set

The Trauma Intervention Program will celebrate its annual Heroes With Heart dinner at 6 p.m. Friday in the Four Seasons' Ballroom to honor emergency responders (police, fire, hospitals, citizens and volunteers) who go above and beyond the call of duty in helping victims of trauma.

Tickets are $150. Sponsors also are needed to help TIP continue its mission to serve the greater Las Vegas Valley, organizers said.

Holiday bazaar open to public

A holiday bazaar will be open to the public 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the Green Valley Library, 2797 N. Green Valley Parkway.

Items available for purchase will include Christmas ornaments (some hand painted), wreaths, baskets, candoliers, table decorations, Viking and Nisse figurines, distinctive calendars, T-shirts, and Scandinavian baked crafts and baked goods, organizers said.

Nevada state parks

will honor all veterans and their immediate families with free visits to any state park by presenting a valid military identification (active or retired) when entering the parks on Veterans Day. For more information about the state parks, call 486-5126.

The second annual Military Appreciation Ball

will be 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Friday at the East Las Vegas Community/Senior Center Ballroom, 250 N. Eastern Ave, to honor the achievements and contributions of our community's servicemen and women. Tickets are $22 in advance. For more information, call 229-1519.

"Zion Going to the Higher Place"
