MountainView Hospital announced today that it has named a new chief operating officer.

J.D. Melchiode starts in early September at the 235-bed hospital and replaces Tad Morley who left earlier this year for personal reasons, the company said in a statement.

Melchiode was previously chief operating officer of University Hospital in Tamarac, Fla., a 317-bed hospital owned by HCA Inc., which also owns MountainView, Sunrise and Southern Hills hospitals in Las Vegas.
