Letter: Bush reminiscent of ‘Baghdad Bob’

President Bush is starting to remind me of "Baghdad Bob," that Iraqi communications officer who kept assuring the Iraqi people that the war was going well even as the U.S. forces were rolling into the capital and toppling Saddam's statue.

Like "Bob," Bush also uses television to mislead the American people about the progress we're making. His statements are all in the face of more than 1,835 Americans dead, thousands coming home with horrible injuries, the Iraqi landscape a mess and no end in sight to the fighting.

"Staying the course" is a great slogan, but only if you are heading in the right direction.
