Donna E. Bast

Donna E. Bast, 64, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 19, 1940, in Kittanning, Pa. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired casino floor person.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis R.; three daughters, Sandie Gingery, Susan Bast and Luanne Trotter, all of Las Vegas; and eight grandchildren.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Jerry Clay Coombes Jr.

Jerry Clay Coombes Jr., 68, of Pioche died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 17, 1936, in San Diego. A resident for 55 years, he was a retired electrician, an Army veteran, a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Las Vegas Blues Society, Southern Nevada Bluegrass Society and the Boulder City Elks Lodge.

He is survived by his companion, Barbara Mason of Pioche; two daughters, Adrienne Gonzales and Andrea Primo, and one son, Charlie Coombes, all of Henderson; one brother, Pepper Coombes of Boulder City; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the Christian Center, 571 Adams Blvd., Boulder City. Graveside services will follow at 1:20 p.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Jacqueline Cooper-Caskey

Jacqueline Cooper-Caskey, 72, of North Las Vegas died Friday in North Las Vegas. She was born April 24, 1932, in Los Angeles. A resident for 13 years, she was a retired owner-operator of a secretarial service, a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for 50 years and did fund-raising for cancer and cytstic fibrosis research.

She is survived by her husband, Gordon; two daughters, Jeannie L. Gross of Canyon Country, Calif., and Jackie Johnson of Las Vegas; two sons, Johnathan Snow of Los Angeles and Gary Caskey of Seattle; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2:30 p.m. Friday in the First Presbyterian Church, 1515 W. Charleston Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Irene M. Culliton

Irene M. Culliton, 88, of Las Vegas died Feb. 8 in a local care center. She was born Aug. 9, 1916, in Niagara Falls, N.Y. A resident for 42 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Marra of Las Vegas.

Pat Dibble

Pat Dibble, 57, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 1, 1947, in Pocatello, Idaho. A resident for 45 years, he was a retired certified public accountant and former Caesars Palace executive, was a 1965 graduate of Las Vegas High School and a 1969 UNLV graduate.

He is survived by two sons, Patricio Dibble and Thomas Dibble, his mother, Wanda Dibble-Morris, and his ex-wife, Bertha Dibble-Sullard, all of Las Vegas; and four brothers, Thomas Dibble of Sandy, Utah, Edward Dibble of Las Vegas, Terry Dibble of Boise and Robert Dibble of Berkeley, Calif.

A memorial service will be noon Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Randall L. Dimings

Randall L. Dimings, 50, of North Las Vegas died Jan. 22 in North Las Vegas. A resident for 14 years, he was born April 26, 1954, in Bend, Ore.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Pam; two sons, David of Amargosa Valley and Michael of Ogden, Utah; his parents, Howard and Carol Dimings of Langlois, Ore.; two brothers, John of Pahrump and Donald of North Las Vegas; one sister, Lynda Blewett of Amargosa Valley; and one granddaughter.

Lynda Sue Edwards

Lynda Sue Edwards, 76, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born June 15, 1928, in Mayfield, Ky. A resident for 48 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; one son, Terry Edwards of Henderson; one daughter, Susan Hart of Las Vegas; one brother, Jimmy Work of Dukedom, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Daniel O. Galiffa

Daniel O. Galiffa, 77, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born May 6, 1927, in Monongahela, Pa. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired tricologist and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Valma; one daughter, Phyllis Garbart of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one son, Daniel Galiffa Jr. of Charleroi, Pa.; one stepson, Louis Garrett of Washington, D.C.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Robert Gordon

Robert Gordon, 42, of Las Vegas died Feb. 1 in Las Vegas. He was born March 18, 1962, in California. A resident for five years, he was a warehouse technician for the Air Force.

He is survived by his wife, Gail.

Morris Grinstain

Morris Grinstain, 82, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 18, 1923, in Romania. A resident for 18 years, he was a furniture company manager.

He is survived by his wife, Frances; two sons, Stuart M. Grinstain of Sacramento and Gerald Grinstain of Anaheim, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Joan Horne

Joan Horne, 68, of Henderson died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born July 16, 1936, in Charlottesville, N.C. A resident for 48 years, she was a bingo caller and a member of the Culinary Union.

She is survived by four sons, Richard Lester of Kentwood, Mich., and Larry Lester, Robert Lester and Jesse Horne, all of Henderson; one daughter, Debra Noel of Las Vegas; one brother, Tom Moury of Boise, Idaho; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-6 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be noon Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

William Hungate

William Hungate, 85, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 20, 1919, in Newburgh, Ind. A resident for two years, he was a retired farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Amelia; one daughter, Pam Ehtee of Las Vegas; and one son, Bill Hungate of West Virginia.

Norma Lopez, 50, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born March 5, 1954, in Newport Beach, Calif. A resident for six months, she was a case worker for the housing authority.

She is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Lopez of Talent, Ore.; one son, Carlos Craig of Medford, Ore.; her mother and stepfather, Sally and Nolen Thomas of Central Point, Ore.; five sisters, Lois Moreno of Riverside, Calif., Emily Ayala of Central Point, Ore., Margaret Leyva of Medford, Carrie Reeves of Oakland, Ore., and Judy Lopez of Grants Pass, Ore.; and three brothers, Frank Lopez of Newport Beach, Calif., Ernie Lopez of Santa Ana, Calif., and Sam Lopez of Medford.

Mary M. Nowicki, 81, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 10, 1923, in Rochester, N.Y. A resident for 28 years, she was a retired legal secretary.

She is survived by one son, Norbert J. Nowicki Jr. of Howell, N.J.; two daughters, Helene Shanhan of State College, Pa., and Gina Sisson of Palmyra, N.Y.; and 11 grandchildren.

Shaft D. Reed Sr.

Shaft D. Reed Sr., 33, of Las Vegas died Feb. 8 in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 11, 1971, in Las Vegas. A resident for 34 years, he was a cook.

He is survived by one son, Shaft D. Reed Jr., and one daughter, Sha'Vlion Reed, both of Las Vegas; his father, Timothy C. Reed Sr. of North Las Vegas; three brothers, Clifford Reed and Timothy Reed Jr., both of Las Vegas, and William Reed of Oxnard, Calif.; and three sisters, Kimberly Howard and Deborah Reed, both of Las Vegas, and Pracilla Robinson of Dayton, Ohio.

Rita Short, 74, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local rehab center. She was born March 13, 1930, in Socorro, N.M. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Toni Guttierrez of Albuquerque, Jeanette Spittell of Las Vegas and Yvonne Van Der Hoeven of the Netherlands; three sons, William Short, Eric Short of Phoenix and Gary Short of Las Vegas; two sisters, Stella Centopani of Florida and Margie Burciaga of El Paso, Texas; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Allen Stark Sr.

Allen Stark Sr., 89, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 10, 1916, in Louisiana. A resident for 44 years, he was a construction worker.

He is survived by two daughters, Annie Flowers and Amy Hawkins, both of Las Vegas; five sons, Charlie Stark of Lake Charles, La., and Willie L. Stark, Jesse Stark, Roosevelt Stark and Lewis Stark, all of Las Vegas; three sisters, Ella Barlin of Ogden, Utah, and Aime Brown and Nancy Forest, both of Fresno; 32 grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Greater St. Paul Church of God in Christ, 911 N. G St. Burial will be in Louisiana.

Henry Thompson

Henry Thompson, 83, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. He was born May 26, 1921, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for five years, he was a retired private police officer at a hospital and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Maria Thompson of Babylon, N.Y.; and two granddaughters.

Graveside services will be noon Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
