Univision Communications Inc., the largest U.S. Spanish-language television and radio broadcaster, said fourth-quarter profit rose 14 percent as its Tele Futura network boosted audience ratings and advertising sales.

Net income increased to $67.2 million, or 19 cents a share, from $58.9 million, or 17 cents, a year earlier, the Los Angeles-based company said today in a statement. Revenue rose 13 percent to $461.3 million from $408.1 million. The profit fell short of 20 cents a share, the average estimate of 18 analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial.

Univision, under Chairman and Chief Executive Jerrold Perenchio, 74, is attracting younger viewers with TeleFutura, started in 2002. Univision said last month that TeleFutura's prime-time audience ratings rose 34 percent in the fourth quarter from a year earlier among viewers aged 18 to 49.
