RED WING, Minn. -- The Prairie Island Indian Community received support from Goodhue County officials in opposing Gov. Tim Pawlenty's casino proposal.

The Goodhue County Board voted 4-1 to support a resolution expressing its opposition to the casino proposal.

Doreen Hagen, president of the Tribal Council, said Pawlenty is "dividing and conquering" the state's Indian tribes. She helped draft the resolution that board members passed.

"When he was running for the governorship, he sat with our tribe and promised that he would not expand gambling," Hagen said.
