Karl Benson, commissioner of the Western Athletic Conference, said Monday that the WAC could end up placing teams in postseason bowls that currently have tie-ins with other conferences. Here are some of the possibilities:
- Poinsettia Bowl, San Diego, Dec. 22, Mountain West v. at-large
- Las Vegas Bowl, Las Vegas, Dec. 22, Mountain West v. Pac-10
- Forth Worth Bowl, Fort Worth, Dec. 23, Conference USA vs. Big 12
- Sheraton Hawaii Bowl, Honolulu, Dec. 24, Conference USA vs. WAC
- Motor City Bowl, Detroit, Dec. 26, MAC vs. Big Ten
- MPC Computers, Boise, Dec. 28, WAC vs. ACC
- Emerald Bowl, San Francisco, Dec. 29, Mountain West vs. Pac-10
- Music City Bowl, Nashville, Dec. 30, Big Ten vs. SEC
- Liberty Bowl, Memphis, Dec. 31, Conference USA vs. at-large
