Letter: Don’t emulate life of Anna Nicole Smith

Fri, Feb 23, 2007 (7:04 a.m.)

A bigger bosom is not always best. Maybe a higher IQ is better.

Was Anna Nicole Smith a nurse in an operating room, assisting doctors in saving lives? Was she part of a medical team on the verge of finding a cure for cancer? Was she a teacher of young children, helping them through education to make for themselves good, productive lives? Was she a spokeswoman against the use of illegal drugs? What were her opinions on global warming? Was superficial beauty her main goal in life?

To idolize people who use cleavage as a tool to get ahead in life is really sick. When I visit my children on the East Coast, I sit with two college graduates and have refreshing talks. What kind of conversations can one have with airheads?

Young women out there, if you think superficial beauty is the path to financial success and a happy marriage, think again. If you wish for an "Anna Nicole Smith" lifestyle, you just might get an "Anna Nicole Smith" ending. May her soul find peace in a better place - she never found it in the living world.
