Letter: Whatever became of legal immigration?

Thu, Jun 14, 2007 (8:04 a.m.)

In Australia in 1944 I married an American. To enter the United States I needed two letters from people who had known me for years to say I was of good moral character, and I needed police clearance.

Just think, if I had waited, I could have sneaked across the border and saved myself and my family thousands of dollars in medical expenses.
