Letter: No sympathy for lack of responsibility

Tue, Oct 30, 2007 (7:14 a.m.)

Whatever happened to taking responsibility for your own actions? Our society today seems to have no concept of that idea anymore.

I totally disagree with the government stepping in to help homeowners who have put themselves in the situation of possibly losing their homes because they have chosen to live above their means.

I work in health care and many of the people I work with are working two full-time jobs to keep their homes and their "lifestyles." They knew when they purchased the homes that they could not afford them.

Common sense should tell you that when you have to work two full-time jobs to keep your home, your Mercedes and your designer clothes, you are living way above your means. They get no sympathy from me.
