Stacy Bromberg, center, of Las Vegas exchanges high fives with Sandra Buttner of Germany before their match in the National Dart Association’s International Challenge at the Riviera. That’s Bromberg’s teammate Mary Ferguson of Indiana in the foreground.

“There’s not a lot of money to be made,” says Bromberg, America’s top-ranked women’s darts player, “but there are a lot of places to travel and see and people to meet in darts. It’s been very good to me.”

Bromberg was watching football in a bar when a friend drafted her to fill out a darts team. She won her first competition three months later. She has been No. 1 for past 12 years.

Despite world travels and a win with Team USA on Wednesday, Bromberg still throws in a weekly league at CD’s Sports Lounge in Las Vegas.
