LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Is Dowd becoming the ‘queen of mean?’

Sun, Apr 27, 2008 (2:02 a.m.)

Columnist Maureen Dowd’s latest diatribe, berating the Clintons, reminds me of a kindergartner having a temper tantrum on the pages of The New York Times, the Las Vegas Sun and who knows how many other media outlets.

There was a time that I was quite moved when reading one of her commentaries, poking the current administration with extremely descriptive and apt sharp barbs. After one such column I wrote a letter to the Sun indicating that I savored each of her words as if they were delicious pieces of chocolate to be slowly dissolved and appreciated.

However, her recent comments berating the Clintons have become increasingly distasteful, as reflected in her latest commentary appearing in the Sun, shouting with childlike behavior, in effect, “Go away, Hillary, Go away!”

Is Ms. Dowd becoming “The Queen of Mean” commentators?

Frankly, it is Ms. Dowd who should “Go away!”
