A Las Vegas man was killed today after his vehicle slammed into the rear of a city bus, Metro Police said.
Investigators said the Citizens Area Transit bus was stopped at about 11:40 a.m. at a bus turnout to pick up passengers on Rainbow Boulevard north of Vegas Drive. A northbound 1985 Mercury Cougar then approached the bus in the right northbound lane.
Police said the mercury failed to stay in its lane, drifted to the right and rear-ended the bus.
The driver of the Mercury, David John Pagach, 47, was taken to University Medical Center, where he died shortly after arrival.
His death is the 72nd this year in the jurisdiction of Metro Police.
