A system serious about budget cuts

Wed, Aug 6, 2008 (2 a.m.)

The higher ed system is serious about those budget cuts.

Check this out from Regents Chairman Mike Wixom: “In the past, the Board of Regents has provided food and beverages to all meeting attendees in an effort to be as efficient as possible by condensing the work into two days and keeping everyone at the meeting location for working lunches. However, in light of the budget crisis, there is a need to cut back wherever possible. Beginning with the August 2008 Board meeting, limited food and beverages will be provided only to those personnel who are required to be present during all portions of the two-day meeting and do not otherwise have an opportunity to leave the meeting at any time.” Oh, the pain. What they need is scotch.
