Metro Police have arrested a suspect, 34-year-old Mauricio Israel Melendez of Las Vegas, on a count of murder with a deadly weapon in connection with the death of a person found dead Thursday in an east valley apartment.
Melendez has been booked into the Clark County Detention Center, police said.
Metro homicide detectives investigated Thursday's shooting death inside an apartment at 5050 Tamarus St.
Neither the identity of the victim nor the cause of death has been determined by the coroner's office, a spokeswoman said today.
The investigation into the case is ongoing, police said.
