Metro Police officers continue to investigate a morning shooting that sent a woman to the hospital.
Officers arrived at a convenience store in the 6400 block of West Lake Mead Boulevard to investigate a report that a woman in a vehicle had been shot at about 6:22 a.m.
Officers discovered that the woman, who was about 30 years old, was leaving the parking garage of her nearby home in the 6400 block of Little Pine Way when a person approached her and fired at least one round through her closed vehicle window, police said.
The motive for the shooting is unknown, police said.
The woman, who had upper-body injuries, was taken in stable condition to an area hospital for treatment.
