Dr. Barbara Carter, a Las Vegas precinct captain for Sen. Barack Obama, takes a photo of the Democratic presidential hopeful amidst a crush of admirers after his speech at Del Sol High School on Jan. 11.
“That was exciting. It was such a crowd there, and to be able to get so close to him, it was like a miracle! I really wanted to be able to do that, because I know that as time goes on, with all the security and everything, the chances of getting close to a candidate, or the president, which I hope he’ll be, would be very slim.”
Carter admired her own photography skills:
“It’s a very good picture, if I have to say so myself. It turned out really clear and crisp and I will keep that picture forever, whether he wins the nomination or not. I think he’s already made history and I’ve been a part of it.”
