Tue, Aug 12, 2008 (9:11 a.m.)

When Metro Police and paramedics arrived at an apartment complex at 531 N. Lamb Blvd., they found a 31-year-old man shot in the chest about 5:42 p.m. Monday, Metro Lt. Lew Roberts said.

The man was taken to University Medical Center, where he died, police said. His identity will be released by the Clark County coroner's office after next of kin are notified.

Police are searching for a man known by the nickname "Tallulah," described as in his late 20s with a medium build and close-cropped hair who speaks with a Louisiana accent.

The suspect was last seen driving a late model red, four-door compact car with a temporary license plate taped to the rear window. "Tallulah" is believed to be armed and dangerous, police said, warning not to contact him or try to apprehend him. If someone sees him, call 911.

Anyone with information can call Metro's homicide section at 828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
