A joint law enforcement effort led to the capture and arrest of 26-year-old Roger Randolph of Las Vegas, a suspect in the shooting death of former Olympic champion boxer 31-year-old Rhoshii Wells of Las Vegas.

About 4:10 p.m. Wednesday, Arizona Department of Public Safety officers spotted Randolph's vehicle, a 1997 Oldsmobile Ciera, on U.S. 93 about 14 miles north of Kingman, Ariz.

Randolph was arrested without incident after Metro Police tipped Arizona authorities that a homicide suspect nicknamed "Tallulah" may be in that state. The car was impounded.

Randolph was charged on fugitive charges for homicide and is being held in the Mohave County Jail in Kingman. He is awaiting extradition to Nevada.

Wells was shot in the torso at about 5:42 p.m. Monday at an apartment complex at 531 N. Lamb Blvd., Metro Police said.

Wells, a father of five children, had won a bronze medal at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. He died hours after emergency medical crews took him to University Medical Center after the shooting.
