LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Why Biden should be at top of the ticket

Mon, Aug 18, 2008 (2:04 a.m.)

I have just finished reading Sen. Joe Biden’s book, “Promise to Keep,” and was thoroughly impressed.

I have come to the conclusion that the Democrats have chosen the wrong person as their nominee. Sen. Biden is a man of faith, honor, integrity, intellect, sincerity and foresight. He also has considerable experience in foreign affairs, having served as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He has served admirably in the Senate since 1972.

He has served with many other distinguished senators and has considerable experience in dealing with heads of state — even standing up to them and putting them down when he thought they were wrong.

Although I do not agree with him on every philosophical matter, there is much that I do agree with him on. I believe he would make a fine president. It is too bad he does not have name recognition in the Western states.

With him as the nominee of the Democrats, and John McCain the Republican nominee, the country could not go wrong. It would be a win-win situation.
