Curious about what the nation’s population will look like in 2050? Just look at Clark County.
U.S. Census projections released last week show that 30 percent of the nation’s population will be Hispanic by the middle of the century. Today in Clark County, 28 percent of the population is Hispanic. The trend is obvious if you look at people under age 20. According to new figures for 2007, Hispanics below that age make up 39 percent of the Southern Nevada population. That’s an increase of 7.5 percentage points since 2000.
The map above shows how the age group has been changing in counties across the country.
