Five people -- three teenagers and two adults -- have been arrested after a one-day crime spree in the southwest part of the Las Vegas Valley, Metro Police said.

The two adults are Michael A. McSwain and Anthony M. Medel, both of Las Vegas, police said. The names of the juveniles weren't released.

The five are responsible for robbery, stolen motor vehicles and burglary on July 29 in the area of Grand Canyon Parkway and Desert Inn Road, police said.

The crime spree began in the late morning when several suspects robbed and beat three people at gunpoint, police said.

Later that afternoon, patrol officers saw the suspects' vehicle near Charleston Boulevard and Pavilion Center. The vehicle was stopped and officers discovered the driver and one of the passengers had been involved in the robbery and battery earlier in the day, police said.

Officers learned that one of the suspects was trying to leave Las Vegas on a commercial flight. Police assigned to Metro's Airport Substation were alerted and arrested that suspect as he boarded a plane bound for Pittsburgh.

All five suspects are now in custody, police said.
