Late afternoon traffic is gridlocked on Las Vegas Boulevard between Warm Springs Road and Sunset Avenue after a cement truck overturned, blocking all northbound lanes of Interstate 15 at the 215 Beltway.
Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Kevin Honea said the driver was talking after the crash, but couldn't get out of the truck.
The driver was taken to University Medical Center, but did not have serious injuries. Investigators said the truck driver over-corrected after bumping another vehicle on the freeway, then the cement truck overturned onto its side.
A hazardous materials crew is on the scene to help clear any fuel spill.
The Nevada Department of Transportation sent a team to clean up the cement, Honea said.
The crew had to repave the damage to the pavement.
Traffic from northbound I-15 is being diverted onto the 215 Beltway, Honea said.
