Letter to the editor: :

Reclamation grass needs attention

Thu, Aug 28, 2008 (6:53 p.m.)

EDITOR:

Well, it seems the Bureau of Reclamation is at it again, with dead and dying lawn on the hill above Wilbur Square.

The Bureau of Reclamation has been attempting to turn the beautiful and historic site into a rock pile for several years. Many meetings were held with the officials to remind them of the value of the appearance of this center of Boulder City's reason for existence: the Boulder Dam construction town and a model of reclamation in the desert.

The hill and building are more than 75 years old, and they are an historic site by federal definition.

When will the bureau follow federal historic guidelines?

Time to remind them with letters and phone calls — if you can contact the right person.
