flashpoint:

Love says never having to say “coal” anymore.

Wed, Feb 6, 2008 (2 a.m.)

Love says never having to say “coal” anymore. So says a story out of Salt Lake City, where environmentalists plan to send Valentine’s Day hearts to the governors of Nevada and Utah to urge them to oppose coal plants in their states. The activists want the governors Jim Gibbons and Jon Huntsman to oppose the $1.3 billion plant proposed near Mesquite. I don’t know about Huntsman, but I know Gibbons loves coal. He’ll probably just toss the handcrafted valentines. Reminds me of the great line that Gabriel Byrne finally says to John Turturro toward the end of the Coen brothers’ classic “Miller’s Crossing.” Begging for mercy, Turturro asks Byrne to “look into your heart.” Seconds before he shoots him, Byrne says, “What heart?”
