With complaints still coming in about the chaotic Little Caucus That Could, state Democratic Party Chairwoman Jill Derby is trying to calm the troops. On Friday she e-mailed a letter to party supporters that declared: “With hundreds of e-mails coming in ... we have heard your recommendations, especially on streamlining the check-in process, improving sites that host multiple precincts and even simplifying the caucus process.” But despite the clamoring, and the calls for a primary instead of a caucus, Derby warned the restive troops: “As we continue this discussion, I’d caution you that Nevada’s new early status could be put in jeopardy if we changed to a primary.” Can’t threaten New Hampshire’s primacy, you know.
