Before the political pundits of television or the radio commentators crown Sen. Barack Obama as the Democratic candidate for U.S. president, they should read a Chicago Sun-Times article from April 23, 2007. The investigative report headlined “Obama and his Rezko ties” goes into great detail on the relationship of the “slumlord” Antoin “Tony” Rezko and Obama. If Obama should become the Democrats’ presidential candidate, the Republicans will use this type of information to completely discredit him.
When Sen. Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign mentioned the ties between Rezko and Obama, she was accused of going negative. Her comment will pale in comparison with what McCain and the Republican press will do with it — their memories cannot be so mesmerized by Obama that they will forget what the Arkansas Project tried to do to Bill Clinton in 1992 and what the Swift Boaters did to John Kerry in 2004.
