This is as shocking as Switzerland declaring war: The Meddler-in-Chief declaring his undying neutrality. But that’s what Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid did in an interview with the Reno Gazette-Journal, issuing a Shermanesque statement about whether he might broker a settlement between the Obama and Clinton campaigns if need be: “If this matter went to the convention, and there was no decision, I would remain neutral,” Reid told the newspaper. “I have two senators to protect. I have obligations as majority leader, and I’m not going to get involved in this. No matter what.” So Harry Reid will not get involved in one of the biggest political fights in party history, if it materializes? He has that much self-control? I don’t think so.
