Jim Gibbons sets the record straight

For those who don’t think the governor has a right to a social life, Jim Gibbons set the record straight Wednesday in an interview with a Reno TV station. Gibbons, who regularly has been seen cavorting with a married woman, told KOLO, “I’m the governor of the state of Nevada and I have to be the governor seven days a week, 24 hours a day. But I also want to be a governor that doesn’t have to be alone in life.” And this: “What I want to tell people is that I’m just like they are, I don’t want to be a lonely governor, I’m going through a divorce. I’m in the middle of a very painful time ... I really think that people should expect, and will, see me with my friends out to dinner, wherever, going to a rodeo, that shouldn’t be a newsworthy thing.” So that’s that.
