LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Defense of Bush can’t be serious

Sat, Jun 21, 2008 (2:04 a.m.)

I read with incredulity the June 18 letter by Robert Klaus praising George W. Bush for what a great president he is. At first, I thought he was just being facetious and pulling our leg. On further thinking about the letter, though, I concluded that Klaus really believed what he had written.

I’d like to point out that Bush and his cronies started the war in Iraq under false claims. The war has killed thousands of our troops, maimed thousands more and killed and maimed who knows how many Iraqis. And there is still no end in sight to the war.

And this is just the tip of the iceburg of the trouble this president has caused. If such trouble is the mark of a great president, I must be missing something.
