Listen, let’s be honest: The energy policies — including support for offshore drilling — of President Bush and John McCain are not working. They are hurting the environment and our lives are not getting much better.
We are dealing with gasoline prices that are going well above $4 a gallon, and Congress doesn’t have an answer to the question of what this country should do.
I hope Barack Obama can do better than McCain in coming up with workable environmental policies.
Also, we’re fighting two wars, in Iraq and Afghanistan. Enough is enough for that. I hope the wars have taught all of us lessons that we will remember during the coming election season.
