Expanded coverage

Meghan McCain, the 24-year-old daughter of Republican presidential candidate John McCain, visited volunteers at the campaign's Pecos Road office in Green Valley Monday, where she encouraged them to keep making calls.

"It's not the most glamorous part of the campaign, but it's the most important," she said.

Before shaking hands with well-wishers, she also proclaimed her fondness for the state.

"I love Las Vegas," she said, repeatedly.

Juliana Campbell, 23, of Henderson, was grateful that Meghan McCain stopped by to show her support.

"I think it's amazing that she took the time," Campbell said. "I think she's a very nice person, too."

Campbell has been volunteering about four times a week for the past two months, spending five to six hours a day.

"I think it's important for young voters to be helping," she said. "There's so much coverage of young Obama supporters. It's nice to show young people support McCain as well."

Unlike Campbell, Sunnie Dotson, 56, of Henderson was spending her first day making calls from the phone bank. She characterized the campaign headquarters as an exciting place to be.

"I don't listen to the polls," she said. "This a room of wonderful, happy people."
