I won’t even pretend to guess whether President Barack Obama’s stimulus package is going to get us out of the terrible mess he inherited. I do, however, have a question. Where were all those fiscal conservatives when the Bush administration, even though it inherited a large surplus, managed to run the national debt from $5 trillion to more than $11 trillion and leave the country in a financial disaster?
