Tyler Ward threw for more than 150 yards and Devin Rimmey rushed for more than 100 as Canyon Springs closed its regular season with a 67-18 victory against Chaparral.
“Tonight, we focused on us,” Canyon Springs coach Hunkie Cooper said. “And we played really well.”
A year after winning only one game, the Pioneers are 6-3 and headed to the playoffs. Canyon Springs will face Liberty, a team they lost to 21-13 earlier in the season, in the first round.
“We are going to play our same aggressive style,” Cooper said. “We’re not going to let other people dictate our game plan.”
