A man who police say shot a woman earlier this month in North Las Vegas before turning the gun on himself has died.
Shortly before 5 p.m. on Sept. 5, officers were dispatched to a home in the 4900 block of Rancho Domingo Court regarding a domestic disturbance.
They found a 38-year-old North Las Vegas woman, Maria Herrera, who had apparently died of multiple gunshot wounds, police said. A 46-year-old man from Cibolo, Texas, was in critical condition with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said. He has since died as a result of his injuries. His name wasn't released Wednesday morning.
A 16-year-old girl who was in the house was not injured, police said.
Police said a preliminary investigation indicates the shooter and the female victim had a previous relationship and a child in common — not the teen in the home at the time.
