A standoff ended Sunday afternoon when Metro Police SWAT officers stormed a house where a man had barricaded himself and took him into custody, authorities said.
The standoff on Phillips Avenue, near Maryland Parkway and Sahara Avenue, ended at 1:10 p.m., police said. No shots were fired, and it was not clear whether the man was armed.
Police said the man, whose name was not immediately released, was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with undisclosed injuries. He was not injured while being taken into custody, police said.
The standoff started shortly after 10 a.m. after police responded to a domestic disturbance call at a duplex, Metro Lt. Jeff Whitehead said.
The man was in the home by himself, police said.
Police had Maryland Parkway blocked off from East St. Louis Avenue to Exley Avenue as the situation unfolded. SWAT officers and K-9 units were on the scene and police set up a mobile command center.
