Family and friends of missing Luxor dancer Deborah Flores-Narvaez launched a website Monday with a clear message: “Please help bring Debbie back home.”
More than two weeks into the search, there’s still no sign of 31-year-old Flores-Narvaez. Metro Police said Wednesday they don’t have any updates about the disappearance.
A female body found last week on the Arizona side of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area was determined not to be Flores-Narvaez.
Her roommate filed a missing persons report Dec. 14 when she failed to show up for dance practice and a show.
Flores-Narvaez, a dancer in Luxor’s “Fantasy” show, was last seen Dec. 12 leaving her apartment near Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue. Her car — without its license place — was found in northeast Las Vegas on Dec. 16.
Her sister, Celeste Flores-Narvaez, came from Atlanta shortly after her disappearance to help with search efforts. She stayed through Christmas and remains in Las Vegas for now.
Celeste Flores-Narvaez said she and her sister’s friends will be hitting the pavement again, distributing fliers near where Flores-Narvaez was last seen.
In the meantime, she hopes the new website will continue to spread the word and help fund search efforts, including a reward for anyone with information leading to her sister’s whereabouts.
“Don’t be afraid to call,” Celeste Flores-Narvaez said. “Don’t be afraid to stand up and do the right thing.”
Flores-Narvaez, who has been in Las Vegas two years, worked for the Washington Redskin Cheerleader Ambassadors in 2007 and 2008 and, according to her MySpace biography, earned a law degree and has a bachelor’s degree in international business but decided to pursue her passion for dancing.
Originally from Puerto Rico, Flores-Narvaez moved to the Baltimore area when she was 7 years old.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Metro’s Missing Persons Detail at 828-2907 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
