The first checkpoint will start at 7 p.m. Friday until 3 a.m. Saturday in the area of Nellis and Lake Mead boulevards.

A checkpoint will be set up in the area of Cheyenne Avenue and Tenaya Way from 7 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday.

On Sunday night, Metro will have a checkpoint set up at Charleston Boulevard and Bruce Street, as well as one at Sahara Avenue and Commercial Circle. Both will be conducted between 7 p.m. and 3 a.m.

The checkpoints are coordinated by Metro Police and are funded by a grant from the state.

AAA will have its “Tipsy Tow” program in effect this weekend, which offers a free tow for would-be drivers from 6 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday.
